Moon on Fire

This isn't another shot of the eclipse. It's what the moon looked like at 5am this morning underneath the smoky air.

See yonder fire! It is the moon
Slow rising o'er the eastern hill.
It glimmers on the forest tips,
And thought the dewy foliage drips
In little rivulets of light,
And makes the heart in love with night.
~ Henry Wadsworth Longfellow

The quote fits the picture and the unphotographed destruction perfectly, unfortunately. :(

Are the fires anywhere near you? I've been wondering....

Nikki, In Japan all children look up at the moon and see a bunny bent over making a rice ball! At least that's what my friend John says. Tim

Beautiful moon, but so sad that it's caused by the forest fires. I hope they're able to contain them soon!
