Poppies

I just love poppies and happened upon these in an empty lot on my way to the nursery at Lowes. Wildflowers are much better than flowers at the store.

I will be the gladdest thing
Under the sun!
I will touch a hundred flowers
And not pick one.
~ Edna St. Vincent Millay

You did such a great job. The triangle of color, the light coming through the petals. It's beautiful.

Such a great perspective on this one! I like how the light shines through the petals, too.

I love the angle you shot this from! Poppies are one of my favorite. I don't know how, but I ended up with a few in my yard lat year. I am hoping they come up again this year.

Oh, man! This is so gorgeous. I love the vibrancy of the poppies against the blue sky and even the arrangement of them.

Nikki, these are so vivid they don't look real. I mean that in a good way. I thought this was a painting that you took a picture of. We don't have poppies down here, or at least I"ve not seen any, but I love them. I would definately frame this one!

Wow! The colors in this photo pop so much they almost seem unreal. Beautiful!

What a fabulous photo. It reminds me of cut outs like Eric Carle, or Henri Matisse. You should try to sell this photo somewhere... it's that good!

Beautiful! You've captured so much - the light illuminating the petals, the orange against the blue sky, the shadows from the petals overlapping and the parts w/in the flower. I love it!
