The Heart of the Matter

I went out today in the drizzle to get some photos of these beautiful wildflowers growing in an empty lot by my house. I stayed out for over an hour and shot 84 pictures of the same flowers over and over. A little obsessive, I know. I had my iPod, tho, and listened to one of my new favorites - A Fine Frenzy - check her out if you can.

Sometimes I enjoy just photographing the surface because I think it can be as revealing as going to the heart of the matter.

Friends

I had the wonderful chance to meet a friend for breakfast this morning. This isn't just any friend. She is one of my first internet friends. I met her online many years ago when we both had small children and were homeschooling. I haven't seen her in three years so it was such a joy to get together. It is amazing to me how small the internet has made my world. I have gotten the chance to get to know some very special people that never would have happened without the world wide web. I think as an introvert having an online community has been a real lifesaver. Julie is a very special person and I am privileged to count her as a friend.

We can learn much about other people on the Internet. And, too, much about ourselves.

Etsy Store

I just changed around my etsy store a little bit. I switched the banner across the top, edited my profile, and changed my avatar. Here's the new banner:

Easter Morning

I took an early morning walk on Easter and these are a couple of the shots I took.

Family

I got to spend the day with my family this Easter. It was a good day. The hardest part was saying goodbye to my niece who leaves for army boot camp on the first of April.

This is a traditional picture we try to take every year. E and his cousin who are only three months apart have gotten this photo taken every year since they were about two.

This was my favorite photo of the day.

The Piano Man

One man gets nothing but discord out of a piano; another gets harmony. No one claims the piano is at fault. Life is about the same. The discord is there, and the harmony is there. Study to play it correctly, and it will give forth the beauty; play it falsely, and it will give forth the ugliness. Life is not at fault.

Take Your Pick

I can't believe it's been a whole week since I've posted. I'm making up for it today tho with over a dozen. I am trying to get photos together to put on some different products that I would like to start selling and I need your help. I can't use all of these and have a hard time choosing what would work and what wouldn't. A lot of these will be going on small purses. Could I get some opinions on these? Pick about four if you can. Thank you!

More Joshua Tree

See how nature - trees, flowers, grass - grows in silence; see the stars, the moon and the sun, how they move in silence...we need silence to be able to touch souls.

The BFG

You would think that I would have gotten at least one photo of an actual Joshua Tree. Personally, I think they are pretty ugly, tho. I found much prettier (and stranger) things to take photos of. Tonight I decided to post the stranger things. I had to name this after the Roald Dahl book. It seemed pretty fitting. For those who don't know, The BFG stands for the big, friendly giant.

The matter with human beans is that they is absolutely refusing to believe in anything unless they is actually seeing it right in front of their own schnozzles.

The Desert

I was able to get out to Joshua Tree National Park yesterday and today to see the beautiful spring flowers. I'm sure I'll be posting more pictures in the next couple of days, but I had to post something tonight before I go to bed.

I have never been in a natural place and felt that was a waste of time. I never have. And it's a relief. If I'm walking around a desert or whatever, every second is worthwhile.
